Coinbase Global Inc., also the biggest exchange in the US, has now confirmed that their wallet browser extension is available for the Ledger hardware wallets as well. This move was introduced to add an additional layer of security to the users.

This announcement was published in a blog post by Adam Zadikoff, Senior Product Manager at Coinbase Global. The message read that this integration is going to provide “an additional layer of security and greater peace of mind” to all the customers.

He further added that “ Today, we are adding support for Ledger hardware wallets in the Coinbase Wallet browser extension, introducing an additional security option for our users.” He also mentioned that Hardware wallets are the physical devices that store private keys for the crypto wallets offline. Since every transaction in the blockchain needs both public and private keys of the user, the hardware wallet will take care that only the user who has the physical device can complete the transaction.

Ever since the Coinbase wallet was launched both through the mobile app and the browser extension, this platform has played a significant role in helping the users connect with the newly launched DApps and earn interest from various Web 3.0 protocols. This wallet is apparently easy to use.

All you need to do is download the Coinbase Wallet browser extension, connect your Ledger to your computer, and follow the on-screen instructions.”

There are many hardware wallets in the market today, amongst which Ledger has the highest 4 million users. In its launch, both Coinbase and Ledger have introduced a limited edition of the Nano X Coinbase Edition. The users can use it to gain more personalized self-storage services.

As per Adam, in the near future, a host of other hardware wallets integrations will be initiated.
