Virtual machines are software computers that provide all the capabilities of physical computers. Applications and the operating system run on them in the same way as on physical computers. However, virtual machines are computer files that run on a physical computer and whose behaviour is similar to that of physical computers. In other words, virtual machines are used as separate computer systems.
